Sailing Etiquette

  • Please be on time for your sail. Call the skipper if you cannot make the sail.
  • Please wear non-marking shoes such as deck shoes or tennis shoes.
  • Please apply sunscreen before you board the boat.
  • Remember to avoid dehydration by drinking plenty of fluids.
  • Space is limited so please bring only small, soft sided ice chests.
  • Please avoid bringing glass containers if possible. Transfer wine and beer from glass containers to plastic cups in the galley.
  • Please do not bring red wine aboard without prior consent of the boat owner.
  • Please drink responsibly.
  • Smoke only with permission and with consideration of other sailors.
  • Store valuables including wallets, purses, cell phones and keys in the salon below deck. Keep the cockpit and cup holders available for drinks and free of loose items.
  • Please ask the skipper for proper use of the onboard facilities, Dispose of nothing other than toilet paper in the onboard toilet.
  • Docking is difficult. Please assist the skipper by discontinuing all other activities including even quiet conversation during the few minutes around leaving and arriving back at the dock.
  • Help clean up the boat. Remove all trash, food, gear, and belongings when you return to dock.
